How the test works.

The test takes about 20 minutes in all, about 15 of them on camera. Use your phone or a computer. Your report arrives by email.

Before you start · 2 minutes

1. 1 · Sign in. Use your email or Google, so your report can reach you.
2. 2 · Check your setup. Find a quiet room with light in front of you. Camera, light, sound and connection each get a tick when they work.
3. 3 · Answer three quick questions. We ask your age range, your gender, and whether English is your first language.
4. 4 · Agree to be measured. You tick one box, for your face and voice.

On camera · about 15 minutes

1. 1 · Read a short passage. You read it out loud, to warm up.
2. 2 · Answer questions in your own words. The questions ask what you think, what you remember and what you would choose. There are no wrong answers.
3. 3 · Finish when you like. You can stop after 10 minutes. A longer recording can give a fuller report.

You can pause at any time, for example if someone interrupts you. It is one take, and it does not need to be perfect.

When the camera stops · about 3 minutes

Tap through 25 short statements about yourself, with the camera off, while your video finishes uploading.

Your profile

We make your profile in the background. It takes from a few minutes to about an hour. We email you when it is ready.

Your profile is free: every trait at a glance, each placed among other people. If you want more, seven chapters each look closely at one part of your life, from the same test. They are extra, and free while we launch.

Have a video already?

You can upload a video of yourself instead. It shows you talking for 10 minutes to an hour, in one take. Then you record 5 seconds live, so we know the video shows you.
